During the 2008-2009 school year, Western High School was involved in the Ohio Improvement Process. A district and school wide strategic plan was developed and will be implemented over the next three school years.
Goal 1: By 2012, the district will improve performance on the reading state and local assessments for all students by decreasing the percentage of non-proficient students by at least 10% annually.
1A. The district will ensure the use of research-based instructional strategies that address the reading needs of all students K-12.
2A The district will incorporate a system of quarterly assessments that are standards based and encourage 21st Century Skills.
