From Mr. Hamilton:

Students and Families,

As we enter this time of some uncertainties it can be some routine that helps hold some bit of sanity together. For this reason I have taken some steps to help introduce a small amount of routine to some of my courses.  All of these are steps to review and keep minds active during our social distancing.  Members of the High School Quiz Bowl Team I am sorry that as of now tournaments are postponed, but I have loaded on our Quiz Bowl page our virtual sites to practice.  You may practice on your own in our Western High School site, or you may join thousands of users around the world and compete with them on the multiplayer site.  For My American History students whom have access to the internet we will be having discussions posted on Wednesdays and Fridays to our Google Classroom pages with some readings and videos.  These will not be required and you may answer the questions and discuss with your classmates and me on your own pace.  We will just move on to the next discussions when posted.  These will be great ways to talk to your peers and get some socializing in a more academic setting. I have also compiled some packets assembled for students whom do not have internet at their home to help keep minds active when needed, this will also be loaded to Google Classroom.  Finally to YLA students, the trip will be postponed so no worry about refunds.  I would say that there is a good chance it may be next year I will let you know through our Remind app as I find out more information.  If you don't understand why we had to postpone, everyday at 2:00 Governor gives an update on the state of what is happening around Ohio.  This room the news conference is given from is one of our meeting rooms that many of you have been in.  We will all need to do some things for a while that are out of our routine.  Please remember your skills you have learned in History and look for credible information, author's qualifications, and supporting sources for what you see on social media.  There is a reason we learn these skills and it is now time to use them for the greater good of our community.  You are on the frontlines of misinformation, stop it in its tracks.  Please follow all guidelines from our leaders and stay safe during this social distancing.
                                                              Love you guys,
                                                                 Hamilton
