Parents of Western Students:
After discussions with the board members, administration, teachers, and parents of blended learners we have elected to release students every other Friday starting September 25th through December. We will be sending this information home in a mailing later this week.
Remote Learning Days - Western Local Schools will be closed for in-person learning on the following dates:
· Friday, September 25th 2020
· Friday, October 9th 2020
· Friday, October 23rd 2020
· Friday, November 6th, 2020
· Friday, November 20th 2020
· Friday, December 4th, 2020
· Friday, December 18th 2020
Students will receive assignments to complete remotely from home on the dates listed above. Assignments WILL NOT be due the day they are assigned because we know not all students have internet access at home. The purpose of the school closure will be for staff professional development regarding blended/remote learning, working on blended learning content delivery, blended learner/teacher conferencing, and planning/collaboration.
Another purpose of these days are to adequately prepare staff members and students in the event that we have to transition to blended learning for all students at any point during this school year as a result of COVID or flu outbreaks.
