The Dare to Dream high school regional business pitch competition was hosted by Shawnee State University this evening.  It is an annual event that gives area high school students the opportunity to create a business idea and pitch it to a panel of judges for the chance to win thousands of dollars in prize money.  This year, Mrs. Amanda Entler coached 6-7-8 graders from the Pike LEAD program and entered the contest against the HS teams.

2023:
10th year; 15 teams (narrowed from 54 who entered);
$32,250 cash up for grabs from 16 sponsors;
8 Schools participating: Green, Minford, Portsmouth, Rock Hill, Russell KY, South Webster, Wheelersburg, and Ross/Pike Jr High LEAD
From Mrs. Entler:  "Pike County LEAD program entered two teams in this competition. We have worked on this since the beginning of school and it has been a long journey!  The Screecher team consisting of Kaylee Freeman, Gavin Wright, Xander Thurman, Warner Blanton, and Carter Moore won $750. I am so proud of these kids!  They held their own in this competition. Both teams presented so well and they fit right in with the high school teams."

WINNERS:  The Happy Campers!  Pike County LEAD 6-7-8 grade. $4500 for overall win + $500 for Most Viable Idea.  CONGRATS, Aubrie Rose, Nolan Childers, Kaelyn Smith, Ava Ricer, Caydince Pekkala!!!!  We are so proud!
OK, who needs their camper cleaned?
