IMPORTANT SENIOR ITEMS

May 13 – Academic Award Banquet for High School- in the High School Gym @ 6:00 p.m. (If receive an invitation)

 May 20 Graduation practice - 8:00 a.m. and it is MANDATORY!  Do not be late!  Please bring your cap and gown to practice!  We will have a parade after practice- a parade through the elementary.  You may leave after the parade.

 Last official full school day for Seniors is May 17. (There may be some seniors who will have to make up hours due to unexcused absences).  

 Senior Showcase is for ALL Seniors and their Family (see attachment) 6:00 pm.

Senior Showcase

 You need to let me (Mrs. Schuler) know by May 6 who you want to walk with down the aisle at graduation.   I have a sign-up sheet posted in my room.  After May 9 we will draw numbers to see the order in which you will walk.  Each student will receive 5 floor seat tickets for their families.  Only the speakers’ (Valedictorian, Salutatorian, President, Warrior Award Winner and Performers) families’ seats will be reserved.  All other floor seats will be first come basis.  You may have as many family members attend as you want, but only 5 can sit in a chair on the floor, all others must sit in the bleachers.   

 Please dress nicely for graduation.

 Doors will open at 5:30 for the May 24 GRADUATION - Please arrive BEFORE 6:00 p.m.  We will be taking a group picture at 6:00 p.m. sharp!  There will be a photographer that will be taking individual pictures- more information to follow.

 You may pick up your diploma in Mrs. Schuler’s room after the graduation ceremony. If you do not pick up your diploma after the ceremony you may pick it up between June 3 - 7 from 6:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. You, personally have to pick them up, you cannot send someone in your place.

 Please pay any charges that you owe. (lunch, sports, & library fines) ASAP.  You will not be given your diploma without paying these charges.

Scholarships 2023-24

This year, South Central Power is asking seniors to do their scholarship online by going to their website South Central Power Scholarship.  This is an excellent scholarship!  It is due by February 1.  Please do ASAP, don't wait, there are parts that need to be completed by a teacher and Mrs. Long.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Schuler.  

Class of 2024

Picture Day for all Seniors will be on Wednesday, October 4 beginning at 7:45 a.m. This is for the composite picture on the wall. Students may also purchase pictures at this time if you wish to do so, but you do not have to purchase the pictures to be on the wall. The CTC bus will be instructed to wait until the seniors have taken their pictures before leaving for the Trade School. CTC Seniors will have their pictures taken first.

All students are required to dress appropriately. Men: dress shirt and tie, if you would like to wear a suit jacket that would be wonderful, but not required. You will only be photographed from the waist up; therefore, you don’t need to worry about dress pants. If you need to borrow a shirt/tie, it’s no problem, please let me know ahead of time so we can put your name on it and I will know what to bring.

 Young women: Please dress nicely and appropriately, nothing that is against the Western dress code (see the student handbook). Again, you will only be photographed from the waist up; therefore, you do not need to worry about dress slacks.

Herff Jones will be at Western on August 29 at 8:15 in the high school gym to pass out graduation items.  They will be returning on September 6 during lunch in room 101 to collect orders.  Seniors at the CTC- Herff Jones will be scheduling with the CTC and we will let you know when they will be coming to the CTC.  

This is for Western Seniors attending the CTC, Herff Jones will be coming to the CTC on September 14 at 8:30 to drop off graduation packets and will be returning to the CTC on September 28 during lunch to pick up orders.  If you have any questions, please call/see Mrs. Schuler at the high school.
