7th grade supply list
Hello parents. If you haven’t done so yet, please go onto either our district or high school Facebook page and fill out the contact form for your child/children. This will greatly help us to safely group students both on the bus and in the classroom. Thank you in advance for your help. We couldn’t complete this task without you!

Reminder: Community Back to School supply giveaway this evening, Thursday Aug 13th from 6-7:30.
It will be a drive thru event held in front of the Jr High Gym. Each car will drive up and give the names/grades of their children and supplies will be brought out. We also have a limited amount of non perishable food items to hand out.
This is only for Western students who are attending in the fall.

High School Safe Start Orientation Calendaro

Mandatory soccer practice begins Monday August 10th and will be Monday through Friday 6:30-8:00 until school starts. For high school and junior high.
Remember Free sports physicals are until Aug 14th. Call the clinic at the school 740-493-1800 or go to SOMC urgent care in Waverly.
Reminder: Food pick up is today at 11am in front of the junior high gym.
Any student entering grades 9-12 who wishes to play golf this fall—there will be open range tomorrow at Big Beaver Golf Course 10am-11am. Please message Mr. DeLotell or Mr. Orin if you can make it. Please also message them if you plan to play, but cannot make it tomorrow.
Attention anyone who picked up food during the COVID school closing in the spring at Western. We have a boxed food distribution planned for 11 am on this coming Tuesday, August 4th. There is quite a bit of food available. Please pull around in front of the bubble “the junior high gym entrance” just like before. We will use the same system as before. Boxes of food will be put on the table out front and we will have one family at a time come up to the table to get their box or boxes. Thank you.
Students may carry a regular book bag with them during the school day. We are doing our best to limit hallway traffic so students will want to carry their things with them. Laptops/Chromebooks will be more protected when students are traveling from class to class in a regular book bag with more padding.

Reminder: The deadline to apply for College Credit Plus at Shawnee and Southern State and to retake your placement test if required for a course you want to take is this Friday July 31st!

The Western Local Board of Education will meet in special session to approve the Safe Start Plan for the upcoming school year. We will meet at 6pm in Room 101.
This is a reminder from Mrs. Long: students taking CCP courses this year that even though they’ve been accepted into the program, they might need to retake the placement test or take it for the first time if they plan to take English comp (Seniors Course) or a math class with Mrs. Forbes. If they need to take a placement test, they need to contact Southern State or Shawnee immediately to be able to get that done before the deadline August 1!
