CTC Open House
Just a reminder that we are back to school tomorrow. Please make sure that you check your kids for illness before you send them to school. If your kids have any symptoms at all of the flu or strep please do not send them. If you are worried about attendance, please contact us and we will make sure to work it out. The only way to stop the flu from spreading is to make sure that sick kids are staying home and not on the bus or in the classroom. Thanks and I'm hoping we have turned the corner with this flu.

Attention Seniors: Graduation items will be passed out on March 1. Herff Jones will be coming to the High School during 1st period and then go to the CTC. If you have a balance, this will need to be paid before you can pick them up. If you do not have the money, they will remain at the High School until you can pay for them. If you have any questions or need to know your balance, please call either Mrs. Schuler at the High School or Herff Jones at 740-357-2160.

If your kids tell you that school is cancelled for tomorrow that is not wishful thinking. Today was the highest number of students we've ever had out for sickness. We had over 200 kids out today and 40 students left school sick after they got here today (which means they most likely spread germs to their friends). We had nearly 40% of our entire student body absent by the end of the school day. Most cases are flu but there have been a high number of cases of strep. I talked to the health department and the CDC recommends a minimum of 5 days to control an outbreak. I apologize for the inconvenience. If the number of kids leaving early today would've been less than yesterday I would've stayed open but it nearly doubled in one day. Staff will be reporting for the rest of the week. We will give an update regarding student online work tomorrow (I know it's not possible for younger students). Per health department recommendations and CDC recommendations for these situations students will not report for the rest of the week.

According to Jodi, our nurse, a headache has been the first symptom of this flu, so please consider that a potential symptom if your child is experiencing an unusual headache

I just sent a voice message regarding our flu situation at school. We've had several students test positive for the flu and sent several kids home sick today. We have an extra custodian that is sanitizing everything each evening. If your child has any flu symptoms please keep them home. If you're unsure call the school and talk to the nurse. The quickest way to get through this is to make sure we don't have sick kids coming to school. If you have questions don't hesitate to call. Thank you.

Just received a message from Jimmy that he's not going to be able to drive on his part of Leeth Creek this morning. Turn around still has snow and ice. I apologize for the late notice.

I know I posted this earlier but I want to make sure everyone knows we are a two hour delay. I've had a few messages asking so I want to clarify that we are on a delay.

After talking to the trustees in Mifflin and Benton we have decided to delay. It was too cold on Saturday to spread gravel so most of the backroads are still covered. I'll be putting out a list of the roads. We will not be driving a little later this evening. If you live on one of those roads your child will not be counted absent. We will have someone at school by 7:15 in each building if you need to drop your child off due to your work schedule.

The homecoming ceremony will begin at 7pm, doors will open at 6:30. Pictures will follow the ceremony, picture packets will be available. The dance will begin at 8, tickets can be purchased at the door.

We are under level one now, which just means to drive with caution. The backroads are currently covered. Hoping everything is better by this evening. Unless we are switched to a level two we will have the homecoming ceremony as planned.
