This is for Western Seniors attending the CTC, Herff Jones will be coming to the CTC on September 14 at 8:30 to drop off graduation packets and will be returning to the CTC on September 28 during lunch to pick up orders. If you have any questions, please call/see Mrs. Schuler at the high school.

I wanted to let everyone know that we will be dismissing at 12 tomorrow. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. We are going to get the kids on the buses and out of here as quickly as possible today in order to reduce the amount of time they have to spend sitting still in the parking lot. They are forecasting an extreme heat advisory tomorrow with a projected heat index of 110 by dismissal time. 3pm-5pm is the projected hottest period of the day. We can't get up enough speed for airflow to cool the buses with those temperatures because buses are either stopping on 124 every minute or slowly driving down a backroad. The temperatures are going to be better on Friday and much better next week. Teachers will work regular hours tomorrow. I'll be sending out a call this evening with this same information for anyone without a cell phone or social media.
Attention 9th graders and any upperclassmen interested in purchasing a class ring:

Any HS and Jr High student who is not playing another sport and wants to run cross country meet tomorrow after school at the track. If you want to run, but our unable to be there tomorrow, please be sure to contact Mr. Mcclay at school.

The CREW CAT from the Columbus Crew will be live at Western's Back to School Event at the STAY IN THE GAME table, reminding the community about the importance of maintaining good school attendance. The Event is Tuesday, August 15th, from 5:00-6:00 PM.
We have dozens of functional computers for sale for $50 each to anyone in the district who may be interested. These just came out of teacher classrooms this summer so they all work. If you would happen to buy one and it doesn't work, we will swap it out for one that does. They will be available during open house tomorrow evening from 5-7. I won't be able to answer individual questions about models or anything like that. If you're interested, you will be able to look at them and pick them up tomorrow evening during open house.
Parents of seniors please pass this information on to your student - Any senior interested in choosing and painting their parking spot needs to let me know. I'll let Mr. Roush know who wants to be included in the draw. We'll do a random draw for parking spots to make it fair. If you and a friend want to change your spots after the draw that's perfectly fine. We'll let everyone know which spot they have after he draws the numbers on Friday afternoon. I'll reply to everyone who messaged me with a picture of the assigned spots. If there are any changes I'll need to get a message from both seniors regarding the change. Fall Sports Parent Meeting @ 5pm on August 15th in Room 101. Any parent who has a student playing/running high school soccer, golf, or cross country must attend. If you can't attend please contact Beth Alexander at 740 835 7005 or their coach.
High school soccer practice tonight from 6pm-8pm. Anyone interested in playing needs to be there tonight.
Attention students in grades 6-8 interested in playing junior high soccer! Soccer practice will begin on Monday (8/7) from 5-6:30 pm for anyone interested in playing JH soccer this year. If you want to play it's important for you to be there tonight.
