Bus 17 stopped at a wreck of some type on Pike Lake Road near Tanglewood acres. They are loading up the car now on a rollback. She has to wait for them to get out of her way to come on through so she will be a few minutes late picking her kids up. She didn’t think it would be very long before she got through. Just wanted to let all parents know on that route that your kids will be picked up a few minutes later than normal.

Trace it on bus 18 is having some mechanical issues this morning. She is switching out buses right now. Her first pick up will be about 20 minutes later than normal. First pick up should be right around 715.

Symmes Valley just called and cancelled. They got more snow than we did so they know there is no chance for them to get here regardless of what our road situation is like this evening. Makeup date will be February 12th. Let's take all of the energy we had planned for tonight and take it to Eastern tomorrow in support of our boys and girls!

No school Friday Jan. 28 due to hazardous road conditions.

Reminder K-6 students tomorrow is Spirit Day! Homeroom with the highest percentage of kids participating will receive a pizza party!
Also, all elementary students will get to attend the high school boys game for free tomorrow as long as they are with an adult. Adult admission $5.00 JV start time 6:00

Fluor-BWXT STEAM scholarship added to HS Senior Information, Scholarship Link. 3 attachments.

We will be operating on a two hour delay this morning.

This is 124 coming out of Latham

The county did the best they could on the west side. Every place that does not have grit is ice. Our parking lot is solid ice. The further I drove the worse it got. 124 has some really icy spots all the way through. 124 in front of the school is solid ice. There are spots that typically aren’t bad that are ice covered. Please be careful if you’re out driving. We are going to have to cancel. I will update everyone on the ball game as soon as we know something. It all depends on what happens with the ice from this point on.

I’m going to go ahead and call a two hour delay for tomorrow. If you live on 124 or any other valleys it’s probably just raining like it is at my house but if you’re on any of the hills it is snowing. The forecasted low is 20°. Going to start out with a delay to give some daylight and some time maybe for the roads to clear up. The following three pictures are of Aeurville , Pinetop, and Lapperel in the last hour and a half

Western Basketball Fans: Wednesday's games with Manchester are now canceled. Make up date will be unlikely as Manchester's league tournament is next week. #tribepride

Western Basketball Fans: The girls game tonight has been postponed due to COVID testing. We will try to find a make up date with Peebles. #tribepride

I didn’t want to put out a call because sometimes the calls are missed and didn’t want to lead to confusion. School is on for normal time tomorrow. I’ve been out driving and there are a few scattered slick spots. This message is really more for staff members and student drivers and parents than bus drivers. The roads are in good shape other than the occasional slick spot so please be careful in the morning if you are driving. Dry Bone hill and Lapperell both had a few slick spots so student drivers please be cautious and take your time. I’m sure most of the hills in the district have a slick spot or two so just be cautious.

Bus 9 will be split just like last night. Bus 18 will also be split like yesterday between bus 15 and the van. As of now we have a solution going forward that should eliminate a lot of the issues we have dealt with in the past week. HOPEFULLY!

Bus 15 just left the school to begin picking up bus 18 ‘s kids. First pick up should be around 745 on Bell Hollow and then he will finish the rest of the route. Since he was early we’re just going to have him do the entire route. First pick up should be around 745 on bell hollow.

We will be double routing for Teresa‘s bus 18. It will not be a complete double route because we will be splitting her route between two drivers in order to minimize the time disruption. Most likely the first pick up will be approximately an hour later than normal but the trip to school won’t take us long because we have two drivers running her route. The first bus is in will leave school, approximately 740, to start Teresa‘s route. I will notify everyone as soon as the buses leave so soon as we know what time to be waiting. I apologize for the inconvenience. We’ve spent all evening working on scenarios to try to get kids to school as quickly and efficiently as possible. Covering four drivers in the morning is not an easy task. This is the least intrusive way to do it.

Busing info Friday 1/21 for bus 9 (Donna) and bus 7 (Penny)
4 drivers out
We will be splitting Donna’s bus 9 the same way we normally do. It will be the same as this morning except we will be on regular time.
Penny‘s bus will be split and students will be picked up by three different buses. The time will not be much different. Be out at the bus stop at your normal time or a couple of minutes earlier just to be safe. If a yellow bus stops at your house just get on it and it will bring you to school!

We will be splitting was 18 the way we did a couple of evenings last week. Students who live on Bell Hollow and Pinhook will be riding bus 15 like last week with the same times. Students who ride bus 18 and live on 124 and Hackelshin will be taken home in the van.
