Correction on the previous message. First pick up for Penny‘s kids will probably be around 945 rather than 845. We are on a two hour delay. I would blame common core math but I never had it so I can’t! Sorry.

We have three drivers out this morning. Here is the changes.
Bus 9 (Donna) - students will split like we often have to do. The Lapperell kids and Grassyfork kids will be picked up like they normally do on the split except for it will be a two hour delay.
Donna‘s kids who live on 124 will be picked up about 20 minutes later than normal. With Penny out we have to send someone out to get her route and that’s when Donna’s 124 kids will be picked up.
We will send out the first bus to get Penny‘s kids. Kids who ride Penny’s bus will probably get picked up around 25 minutes later than normal. First pick up for Penny‘s kids should be around 845 and then will come straight through and pick up her kids and the rest of bus 9’s kids.

We are going to start out tomorrow on a two hour delay. I am hopeful that we will be able to have school. We do know there is rain coming and it will turn to snow and the temperature will be 14° in the morning. I have about four spots that I have to check in order to make a completely informed decision. I have to make the call by 5:30 or 5:45 to the bus drivers and I want to be able to safely make the right call. A two hour delay will give me the time to be sure that low conditions are safe for travel. I am hoping to be able to have school tomorrow and Friday. The current radar and forecast don’t look good for early morning but we may get lucky and have things cleared up in time to have school on a two hour delay.

The homecoming dance has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 5th. It's the first Saturday we have open. Everything will be the same as previously scheduled except the date. Let's just hope for good weather! The homecoming ceremony will be held as scheduled this Friday night.

The concert tomorrow, Thursday Jan 20th with Attaboy has been postponed.

I know everyone is wondering about school tomorrow. We will definitely be at least on a two hour delay. I’ve been out checking roads and some of them are still in rough shape. Going to give the sun the rest of the day to hopefully get the ice broken up. Going to do another check around dark I will notify everyone about tomorrow. Here are a couple of pictures from Drybone Hill and Fairview around 1:30. Text messages will not contain pictures (not sure why).

Attendance parent education classes held at the Educational Service Center for tonight have been cancelled. A date in Feb will be mailed to those scheduled to attend.
No youth basketball practices this evening.

The CCP meeting scheduled for this evening has been canceled. We will reschedule it for a later date. Thank you.

The college credit plus meeting scheduled for tomorrow will still take place at 6:00 Have a great evening.

No school for Western Local on 1/18/2022.

I forgot to include Penny May’s bus on the late arrival message. Students who ride Penny’s bus will arrive home approximately 20 to 25 minutes later than normal. We had an unexpected route split at the end of the day.

College Credit Plus Information night is Tuesday January 18th at 6:00 pm. There will be representatives from Shawnee State University and Southern State Community College. This meeting is required for all current CCP students and students who are enrolling for the 2022-23 school year for the first time. There are changes and new required forms for both parents and students to sign. It is very important that all parents and students who plan to participate in CCP next school year are at the meeting!

Students who ride bus 17 will be arriving home approximately 15 to 20 minutes later than normal.

We had three drivers call off unexpectedly today so we will be splitting some routes. The only one that is really affected is bus 18. Kids who ride bus 18 and live on 124 or Hackelshin will be leaving today at 2:15. The other students who ride bus 18 will be riding bus 15 and arrive home at the same time as yesterday. I’m very sorry for the inconvenience. If you have any questions please call the building where your student attends or the board office at 740 493-3113. We will be combining some other routes but the timing will not differ much from normal afternoon drop off time.

Reminder tomorrow, Sat. Jan 15th is the first skills camp for the K-2 biddy basketball. 9-10:30 High school gym.

We had to split bus 18‘s route this evening. Your child may arrive home just a few minutes later than normal. There won’t be much of a difference but we split bus 18 between bus nine and bus 15. Your kids are on their way they may just be a few minutes late

Western Fans: Tonight's JH Boys Basketball game with Glenwood has been canceled for this evening. No make up date has been discussed at this time. #tribepride
