2022 Prom Information
Prom will be April 30, 2022 at Western High School. Grand March will begin in the high school gym at 6:00 pm.
Prom Tickets are now on sale and will be on sale until Monday, April 25 th . Tickets have been taken to the CTC and a Western representative will be at the CTC on Monday (April 25) to collect ticket money (there will be no tickets sold after this date.)
The cost of a single ticket is $18 and a couple’s ticket is $32.
If you wish to participate in Grand March, please write “yes” beside your name
when you purchase tickets.

Academic Signing Day at Western High School
Western High School is hosting an Academic Signing Day to celebrate the Senior Class of 2022 making the important decision to enroll in a college, branch of the military service or other postsecondary institution or career training. On Wednesday, May 4 at 2:00 p.m. we will honor our seniors as they pursue their dreams of education beyond high school.
Graduating seniors are invited to attend and encouraged to celebrate the
postsecondary institution of their choice. Seniors that wish to participate in the
signing must have a 2.50 GPA and have met the State of Ohio graduation
requirements for the Class of 2022. Seniors must provide a letter of acceptance from the college or career training they have chosen to attend. Those intending to participate must also signup by April 26th in Mrs. Schuler’s room (301).
Family members are invited and encouraged to attend. Academic Signing Day will begin promptly at 2 pm in the high school gymnasium. If you have any questions, please call or see Mrs. Schuler.

Students who. ride bus nine will be arriving home approximately 10 minutes earlier than expected today. They will be dismissing at approximately 1150.
Bus 18 students will be arriving home approximately 20 minutes later than normal. We had a late afternoon call off so we have to double route.

Baseball and Softball Fans: With the passing of Mr. Lightle we will not be playing games this evening. We also will be moving our game on Friday to a different date. Wednesday and Thursday should operate as normal. #tribepride
We will be dismissing all students at 12 o’clock on Friday so that our staff and students who wish to pay their respects to Mr. Lightle and his family will be able to do so. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 PM on Friday in the Western High School gymnasium.
We will be having additional counselors on site tomorrow to talk with any students who are struggling with Mr Lightle’s passing. We know this will be very difficult on both staff and students so we want to be sure to be able to offer them all of the possible help we can. We will be having a meeting with all junior high and high school students first thing in the morning to make sure they understand that counselors are available.

Now that the news of the accident has been published in the media I feel that I can appropriately explain the circumstances that necessitated our cancellation today. Darren Lightle, our JH history teacher, WHS graduate, and 25 year teacher at Western was killed in a car accident early this morning. We will get a plan together today to set up counseling services for our students. Several other schools have offered services already. When we get details I will get them out to you. Please be in prayer for Darren's kids and his family and also for our staff and students. Lots and lots of students and adults impacted in a 25 year career.
