This message is for students who ride bus 19. Ayesha woke up sick this morning and we are unable to get a sub. We will have to double route so we will send out the first buses that pull in the school this morning. We will send two buses to cut down time, one to do Green Ridge and the other to do red bridge/McCoy. First pick up should be around 750. I will notify you whenever the buses leave the school with a more exact time. Thank you.

Western Local Board of Education meeting 1/9 at 6 PM in room 101.

I wanted to take a moment or two to wish each of you a Merry Christmas and let you know how thankful I am that you have trusted us with your greatest treasures - your children and the future of our community. I hope you all had a wonderful day. I hope your kids are enjoying the break. But more than anything I’m thankful that we have a reason to celebrate this season. Merry CHRISTmas to every Western Indian.

After watching the most recent weather forecast we’ve decide to postpone the games for Thursday and Friday. Both schools were concerned about traveling Thursday night. The switchover is predicted to be around 10, which makes it too close for comfort. Friday was an easy decision with a wind chill of -20 to -30 predicted and a temperature of 0. All day Friday is under the “no travel” designation.

Reminder that tomorrow, December 14th will be fall picture retakes. We will also be taking sports pictures for all cheerleaders.

Board of Education meeting on December 12 at 6 PM in room 101

Just a reminder that students do not have school tomorrow. Enjoy the last day of your Thanksgiving break!!

Just a reminder that students do not have school tomorrow. Enjoy the last day of your Thanksgiving break!!

We made the announcement to the students right before they left today to make sure everyone got it but we are going to have to cancel tomorrow. We had 160 students out today and several left and tested positive for the flu. We also had almost 30 staff members out. The most students we ever had out at any one time before was less than 140. We will sanitize everything tomorrow and giving the building seven days without students and staff will hopefully break the cycle. I know of at least two other districts in our area that are closing tomorrow. I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving break and hopefully can spend it without being sick.

Marvin is leaving the school now to pick up Penny’s kids. First pick up should be at approximately 940.

Penny isn’t able to drive this morning so we are going to have to double route for her. Her first pick up will be approximately 940 instead of 910 as would be expected on a two hour delay. I will send the first bus that comes in back out to get Penny’s kids. Didn’t want them to stay in the cold any longer than they have to.

Western Primary & Elementary-Fall Picture Retakes will be Tuesday, November 22. Your student may pick up a form in the office on Monday. Thanks!
