Wednesday, May 10th- Senior Academic Signing at 2:00 in the High School Gym
Monday, May 15th- Academic Awards Banquet at 6:00 in the High School Gym. Invitations were sent home to those who will be receiving awards.
Thursday, May 18th- Awards Day at 8:30 in the High School Gym
Friday, May 19th-May 21st- High School Musical "May We All"
Show times May 19th-6pm May 20th-2pm and 6pm May 21st-2pm
Monday, May 22nd- Last day for seniors and senior breakfast/ graduation practice at 8:00
Tuesday, May 23rd- High School Spring Sports Banquet at 6:00 in the cafeteria

Friday, May 26th- Senior Graduation at 7:00 in the High School Gym

Youth soccer practice for tomorrow night (Thursday) for all teams is cancelled. The field is still way to wet and we need to let it dry.
Games will be played as scheduled on Saturday.
Attention Seniors and Senior Parents - Just a reminder that Western is hosting its 2nd Annual Academic signing on May 10th at 2:00pm. in the High School Gym. Family members are invited and encouraged to attend. We will be acknowledging the Class of 2023 graduates who are making the important decision to enroll in college, branch of the military service or other postsecondary institution of career training. If you wish to participate but missed the sign up, please contact Mrs. Schuler before Friday!

Western Alumni Banquet 2023 invitation. Anyone who has been coming will receive an invitation by mail. Honored classes are 1998 and 1973. Please share with anyone who may be interested in coming.
As part of its statewide stakeholder engagement efforts, BroadbandOhio recently launched its Internet Access Survey. The survey requests input from Ohio residents, government entities, internet service providers, nonprofit/community organizations, and private businesses and will support the development of proposals to access unprecedented federal funds for broadband, including the Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment and Digital Equity Programs. The Internet Access Survey is part of a larger statewide outreach effort, which kicked off earlier this month. Through May 3, BroadbandOhio is hosting a series of in-person listening sessions in communities throughout Ohio, as well as several live webinars, aimed at reaching as many people as possible.

Letters went home this week with students who are entering the 7th and 12th grade next year and still need the required vaccines for the upcoming school year this fall. Our SOMC office here at school is offering a vaccine clinic on May 5th so that those students have the chance to get the vaccines done here at school.
If you would like for your student to get the vaccines done at our SOMC clinic that day, please fill out the forms that were sent home with your student this week and return those to school as soon as possible.
The only vaccines being offered that day are the ones that the students are required to have for school this fall. We will not be giving any vaccines to any student unless they have a consent form filled out and returned.
If you have any questions or would like for your student to get vaccines that day, please give the school nurse a call at 740-493-2881.

Thank you students, staff, and parents for a successful Scholastic Book Fair. With our sales, I am able to provide an extra $684 in books to our junior high/high school library. Due to the overwhelming support, I look forward to hosting book fairs for many more years.

Sorry for the late message, but I want to let students a ride Penny May's bus know that students who live between Corner Market and Redbridge will be picked up by bus 10 and students who live between Redbridge and Latham will be picked up by bus 15. The times will be the same but we are splitting Penny's route.
I was just made aware there are powerlines still down on Davis Road so we will not be running it tomorrow.
ATTENTION 4th & 5th families
The field trip to the circus will be returning around 4:00. Please make sure you are here to pick up your child.
I checked the roads this morning and there is no water out anywhere. We got a little less than 1.5 inches of rain last night. The forecast is calling for another half to three quarters today. if that's all we get we'll be fine but I'm telling the bus drivers to be on call just in case we get more than anticipated. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up.
One week until the junior high/high school Scholastic Book Fair! This will be held in the high school library, and students can shop throughout the school day.
