Please Share! The Ross Pike ESC (Renee Tackett's employer) is hosting a Pie in the Face fundraiser in an effort to raise funds to help cover the insurance deductible for Jocey Tackett's medical expenses. Ed Dickens, Ross Pike ESC assistant superintendent and former teacher/principal/superintendent of Waverly Local school District has graciously agreed to "take as many pies to his face as it takes!" Please send all donations with comment "pie" to Venmo @Jason-Wiseman-23 or PayPal @JasonWiseman23. All proceeds will be sent directly to the Tackett family. For every $100 donated, Ed Dickens will take a pie to the face! Every donation is greatly appreciated no matter how small. Donations will be combined in $100 increments. If any local businesses would like to sponsor a whole pie, I will gladly put a shout-out to you on this post! Please make all donations by 8:00 am this Friday, February 28th. Ed Dickens will be pied at the Ross Pike ESC staff meeting held that day. Pictures/videos will be posted/shared on the Ross Pike ESC website. Please help us spread some joy and laughter to the Tackett family during this difficult time while lessening their financial burden.

I know I just made a call about Donna's bus but we had to make a change. We had to switch out buses this morning so the driver for Brandis will be running about 30 minutes later than normal so Brandis' kids will be getting picked up about 30 minutes later than normal and Donna's kids who will be riding that bus this morning will be about 50 minutes later than normal. I apologize for the inconveniencing confusion. I just found out about the bus 30 seconds ago. Thanks.

This is a message for students who ride Donna's bus. Donna's dad passed away last night and we were not able to get all the routes covered this morning so we will be splitting Donna's bus. Kids who live on Lapperel will be picked up about 20 minutes later than normal just like one day last week and the kids who live on grassy Fork will also be picked up about 20 minutes later than normal like last week.

We're having to get creative with our bus route tonight so the students on Brandis's bus that live on grassy Fork will be leaving here at 2:40 today. That bus will come back and pick up the kids who live on red Bridge and McCoy and take them home so they will be arriving home just a few minutes later than normal.

This message is for students who ride Penny's bus. We are unable to get her route covered this morning so we will have to double route. Her first pick up will probably be approximately 30 minutes later than normal. I will send out a call and text as soon as someone for the school leaves to go pick up her students. First pick up approximately 745.

This message is for all staff district wide. Tomorrow we will be having a $5 jeans day and all proceeds will go to Renee Tackett for her daughter, Jocey Tackett, who is currently in ICU on life-support. Renee is one of our home instruction teachers and has been very loyal and good to our kids at Western. If you have seen Jocey's story floating around on Facebook, then you know how severe her situation is. Please feel free to donate more than $5. Special note for the Elementary staff, Mrs. Whitt will make it up to you and will do another points day for jeans soon. Thank you.

The sheriff just called a level one for hazardous road conditions. Back roads are snow covered and really slick so we're going to cancel today.

Considering we are under a winter weather advisory, we're going to go ahead and start out tomorrow on a delay. This morning was dicey enough and our drivers did a great job getting everybody to school safely, but I don't want to push our luck and have that same situation tomorrow. This morning snow hit after we would normally have called off but we're getting some warning tonight so we are going to start on a two hour delay.

We had to double route Debbie Scarbrough's bus today. Penny will be taking her kids home about 10 minutes earlier than normal and coming back to get Debbie's. Debbie's kids will probably arrive home about 30 minutes later than normal.

The High School & Junior High attendance meetings that were scheduled for last week, and cancelled because for the weather, will be rescheduled very soon. New meeting letters will go out in the mail and we will also post on here to notify as well. If you have any questions please contact the high school office. Thank you.

We have to split Donna's route in the morning because we are short on subs. Doug will pick up Donna's kids on Lapperell and Stewart and Purdue approximately 20 minutes later than Donna normally does. Brandis will pick up Donna's kids on grassy Fork approximately 20 minutes later than later than Donna normally does.
