I left a voice message for David Cox's bus but I wanted to leave this also. David Cox's bus number 23 will be running 25 minutes late this morning. His bus wouldn't start and had to get another bus so he will be running approximately 25 minutes later than normal. Thanks.
Sorry for the late message. Mr. Roush wanted me to remind all high school students that tomorrow is not a dress-up day even though it is Halloween. All of those activities were last week.
We have two buses that are not able to run their regular routes today because of a tree down Aeurville . Penny's kids will be getting picked up by the other three drivers who run 124 and the time should be pretty close to the same as normal. Doug will be picking up all of his kids except Penny will be getting Aeurville kids from her house up. He is running 20 to 25 minutes behind because he had to run his route the opposite way.
I apologize for the error on the P/T conference message. The PD day for staff will end at noon with the P/T conferences from 1pm-8pm.
Our first P/T conference is on Thursday, Nov. 9th. Our calendar has a half day for students on 11/9 with the P/T conferences starting at 4. We are going to change that to a half PD day for staff followed by the P/T conferences as scheduled. Students will not report to school on 11/9 at all. We hope to have as many parents as possible at the P/T conferences. If you are unable to come please contact your student(s) teachers to arrange a phone meeting if possible.
Mr. Lathe Moore, Administrator for the Pike Adult Education Program spoke with Seniors on Wednesday, October 25 about the many options available to them after high school. These options include EMT Training, Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomist/EKG certification, Medical Assistant, and CDL training. These are all excellent options for students who want to go straight into a career.
2023 Veterans Breakfast Invitation
In honor of our Western veterans and to show our appreciation for the sacrifices each of you have made in order to help preserve the freedoms that we enjoy today in this great country, Western Local Schools would like to invite you to our annual Veterans Day assembly on Wednesday November 8th. In addition to our annual Veterans Day assembly, we will be serving breakfast to our Western veterans beginning at 8:30. Our plans are to start the assembly at 9:30 am. In addition to the breakfast and assembly, we will be having a short ceremony at the Western Veterans Memorial to honor those Western Veterans who are no longer with us.
We sincerely hope you will be able to join us on November 8th at 8:30 am. If you plan to attend the breakfast please RSVP by November 3rd by phone at (740) 493-2514 or email me at brock.brewster at westernlocalschools . com . (I can't post full email address on FB). Unfortunately, we don’t have a complete, comprehensive list of all Western veterans. Please share this invitation with all Western veterans and encourage them to join us for breakfast, the assembly, and then the short ceremony. Everything will be concluded by 11 am. WHS Fall Sports Banquet Information
Junior High Fall Sports Athletes will be having their awards day on Monday October 30th. They will have a Pizza Party at their lunch time and then some free time to play in the Gym. Afterwards, starting at 2:20 PM we will hand out awards in the High school Gym. Everyone will receive a certificate, but we do have a few special awards this year as well. Parents are welcome to attend this event if they would like to. Please enter through the front office. If you have any questions please call the JH Athletic Director Carolyn Wessel at the High School.

Western Volleyball will play for a Sectional Championship on Wednesday, October 18 at 7:00.
Please purchase tickets online at the link above. Ticket prices online are $8.00 adults and $5.00 students at the door all tickets will be $10.00.
Just a reminder that we cannot allow students into the volleyball sectional game tonight for free like we usually do. Everyone will have to purchase tickets online or pay at the door. We've announced this several times at school but wanted to make sure everyone is aware.
